This small quilt is part of a series of vegetable portraits I've created that combine painted and hand dyed cottons. Work remaining to be done: quilting and binding.
I've been a quilter and embroiderer for many years but have recently been bitten by the crazy quilting bug. It's the culmination of every hobby I've had over the years -- embroidery, beading, crewel, needlepoint, crochet, you name it. Plus, I don't have to match points or measure seams!
To earn money for the silks, hand dyed ribbons and beads needed to feed the crazy quilting habit, I produce documentaries for public television. It's the best job in the world. I get to feed my curiosity beast and get paid at the same time.
I have a long time husband, two adult children, a son-in-law and two grandkids. My family is the light of my life.
